FIFA World Cup Scarf design inspiration for Egypt
Bold and bright, Egypt’s World Cup scarf reflected their rich history with a modern interpretation of the distinct headdresses and crowns worn by Egyptian Pharaohs.
Triangular shapes paid homage to ancient pyramids and different shades of red were used to represent the striped Nemes headcloth as seen on Tutankhamun’s mask. Red is also the color predominantly worn by the national side, nicknamed ‘The Pharaohs’, who were appearing at the tournament for the fourth time.
